DID YOU KNOW?
According to Feeding America’s food insecurity data:
Nearly 20 percent of children in the United states experience food insecurity, with some rural counties reporting rates as high as 50 percent.
In Michigan, 1,535,890 people are facing hunger and of them, 414,840 are children. (Data from 2024).
Child food insecurity in Eaton County alone recorded 23,752 (11%).
Millions of people in the U.S. struggle to afford enough food, including families who are working full-time.
Hunger often hides in plain sight. Many individuals experiencing hunger do not look like the typical stereotype.
Kids who don’t get enough nutritious food have a harder time concentrating in school. Even short periods of hunger can affect a child’s physical and emotional development.
Food insecurity is linked to higher stress, anxiety, and health problems.
Many older adults must choose between buying food and paying for medication or utilities.
A single delivered meal can relieve stress, restore dignity, and help someone get back on their feet. YOU CAN BE PART OF THE SOLUTION.
